Sleeping Beauty with LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask

It is no secret that I am a mask lover and my collection is never complete. In my mind there's nothing better than a good masking routine to compliment your everyday skincare.  Having fallen in love with the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask (see previous post here) I was looking forward to trying the LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask - aka another beauty product that will do all the work for me as I sleep - What could be better?

What’s Nice About It?

Like the Lip Sleeping Mask I believe it is the combination of innovative ideas of Sleep-Tox™, Hydro Ionized Mineral Water and Moisture Wrap™that make this product such a hit.

The Sleep-Tox™ is said to “calm skin from damage and external stressors that skin suffers during the day; infused with antioxidant-rich Hunza Apricot and Evening Primrose.” These ingredients are supposed to reduce the fatigued look of skin. This is further enhanced by the addition of  Hydro Ionized Mineral Water  which is a combination of “six moisture-maximizing minerals—zinc, manganese, magnesium, sodium, calcium, and potassium” These six help to penetrate quicker and deeper into skin”. The last layer of this combination is the Moisture Wrap™ which is an exclusive technology mentioned in my previous post about the Lip Sleeping Mask that features “a mineral network of moisture-rich beta-glucan to form an eight-hour time-release moisturizing layer over skin; locks in active ingredients and mineral water.” Essentially sealing in all the active ingredients that are calming and hydrating your skin to make you arise from your slumber looking dewy, fresh and fabulous.

First Impression

As a big masking fan I was intrigued by the fact that this was essentially a mask that I could wear and that would work all night long.

How to Use

1.      After face cream, apply evenly across face.
2.      After absorption, leave treatment overnight and rinse off in the morning.
3.      Use once or twice a week.

Application Reflection

The consistency is indeed gel like, but not tacky. It was easy to remove from the jar although, I would recommend a spatula for a seamless application. It has a fresh and clean smell that is extremely subtle that almost immediately dissipates upon contact. It feels both cooling and soothing as you apply it all over the face and even after when you move about after application. It does feel like your skin is just soaking up all the moisture. It does have a little bit of stickiness once it starts to dry down but as it soaks in fairly fast (approximately 5-10 minutes). I woke up to dewy looking soft skin with no residue.

Final Thoughts

I have yet to find something from this line I don’t love. I am always a little skeptical when I see products that promise that you will wake up with great results but with this mask you truly do. Everything about the application right down to the Calming Sleepscent™ (an infusion of  orange flower, rose, and sandalwood) that really does relax your senses while apricot and evening primrose extracts really do work wonders to brighten and purify your skin.  The moisture is locked in by the highly concentrated Hydro Ionized Mineral Water. The truth is you just wake up looking like you slept better than you did in years with soft, refreshed glowing skin.

After all, who needs prince charming if you can become a sleeping beauty on your own with just one jar?
