Tried & Truth : Grown Alchemist Detox Serum & Age-Repair Eye Cream

I was thrilled to get to try this brand as it has been one that has been on my list for a long time. I absolutely love everything about the packaging. On top of the fact that it is recyclable, the crisp black lettering on the white carton speaks right to my minimalist heart. I also loved the brown bottles that ensure products efficacy especially against light. I also happen to love that these products are gluten-free and cruelty-free.

WHAT IS IT

This lightweight, oil-free serum absorbs quickly into the skin. Recommended for daily use to detoxify the skin of not only traditionally targeted Oxygen free radicals and also ones caused by Carbon and Nitrogen.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS & APPLICATION REFLECTION

The scent is strong - this formulation does contain essential oils and is fragrant - so if you experience sensitivities to these ingredients this is likely not a product for you. The texture however was lovely. It is a thin gel like texture which I prefer for a serum - not greasy or sticky. It applied easily and soaked in readily. A little bit does go a long way which is great for the price point.

After just a couple uses I realized that unfortunately, this product was just too much for my skin, it did not seem to have any positive effects that it claimed to and I did not notice any difference at all in tone or texture but instead my skin experienced breakouts almost right away that were uncomfortable and itchy. I wanted to love this product because of its claims to detoxify and help skin to them readily absorb and utilize all my other active ingredients within my skincare but it just wasn’t there for me.

WHAT’S IN IT?

This advanced eye cream formulated to improve the appearance of skin firmness and elasticity around the eye. It is said to noticeably reducing dark circles and puffiness under the eye while reducing the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS & APPLICATION REFLECTION

The smell is light and fresh and not strong at all. It dissipates almost immediately after application which I really like as I prefer not to keep scented products near my eyes. I do think this product will go far as a half pump really does dispense a lot or product surely good enough for both eyes. The cream is thick rich and creamy and does feel soft to the touch and easy to place under the eyes. It did give a nice sheen to the skin, felt moisturized and did slightly de-puff however, I did not notice any improvement in fine lines or dark circles. This formulation does contain essential oils - so if you experience sensitivities to these ingredients this is likely not a product for you.

Although this product is said to address all visible signs of aging around the eye area it just doesn’t pack the power punch of effective results for the price tag. It was very nice to try but it won’t be a repurchase for me.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

The price point is a little high for the efficacy of the products but if you love natural ingredients and have no sensitivities this is a great option to try.
