Tempting Taco Bake
Whether it is Taco Tuesday or any night of the week this great recipe will not only satisfy but make your taco lovers drool with envy as you appear just a little bit fancier with less work than you can imagine.
Ingredients
2 lb. (900 g) Extra-Lean Ground Beef
1 ½ or 2 pkg. (30 g) Taco or Fajita Seasoning Mix
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 Package Tortilla Shells (Small or Large depending on your size of pan)
1 ½ Cup Green Onions
1 ½ Cup Tomatoes
1 Cup Salsa
1 pkg. (400 g) Shredded Cheese (I prefer Kraft Tex Mex Blend for an extra kick)
½ Cup Light Sour Cream
You will also need a Frying Pan and a Round Non-Stick Baking Pan.
Instructions
1. Heat oven to 375°F.
2. Add a tablespoon of Olive Oil to a frying pan and add Ground Beef
3. Brown Ground Beef (approx. 7-10 minutes)
4. Add seasoning mix and let is cook down (approx. 5 mins)
5. Remove the pan from heat
6. Grease your non-stick baking pan with olive oil if desired
(This makes it easier to cut & scoop out later)
7. Layer your first tortilla shell and then layer your meat mixture and all other ingredients in any order
8. Continue to layer until your desired height (typically 4 layers fit in my pan)
9. Top with salsa and remaining shredded cheese
10. Bake, uncovered, 20-25 minutes (or until desired ooey-gooey-ness)
11. Cut, Plate and Serve – Garnish with Sour Cream
Serve and watched your friends, your family or significant other be impressed - then clean up :)
